What We Need
Four things that turn a request into a timeline
The counterparty
The exact manufacturer, carrier, customs authority, or ERP vendor, and the country or trade lane it applies to. The same carrier often runs different systems per region.
The interface
Whether they exchange EDI, expose an API, drop files on SFTP, or only offer a web portal. If you have their technical specification, that answers most of our questions at once.
The messages
Which exchanges actually matter to you: bookings inbound, status updates outbound, customs declarations, invoices. A partial connection that covers the daily traffic beats a complete one later.
Your volume
Units or messages per month across that connection. It sets whether this is a scheduled batch, a live feed, and where the request lands against everything else in the queue.
