Rates use formulas, not static lookups: define "$8/LM for the first 10LM, then $6/LM after that, minimum $120 per unit" once and it applies to every matching booking. When a yard activity completes, such as a PDI, inspection, or damage repair, the corresponding charge is generated instantly from the same rule set. No manual entry, no end-of-day reconciliation. When multiple rules match, the most-specific-wins algorithm selects the best fit automatically.

Three-tier tariff hierarchy
Tariff templates are versioned by effective date. Historical pricing is always preserved. Within each template, tariff groups separate base freight from surcharges. The override chain runs generic → client → agent → voyage: the most targeted rate is always applied, with no separate rate sheet per customer.

Revenue protection and risk management
Minimum rate rules set a per-voyage revenue floor scoped to voyage, agent, and currency. If the formula produces $400 but the floor is $600, the system charges $600. No override required. Credit limits are enforced at booking creation, not at invoicing, blocking the booking before it is saved.
