The Q2 2026 Release is the quarter the damage work announced in Q1 becomes a complete damage management module. Damages are captured on the desktop and the handheld, drawn on a vehicle diagram, and followed from one inspection to the next. Vessel loading and discharge now run from an imported manifest, with shutouts and completion figures recorded per operation. The handheld works offline for scanning, photos and inspections. And yards with electric vehicles can connect their chargers over OCPP 1.6J.
Damage Management Module
Damage capture now runs on both the desktop inspection form and the handheld app, against the damage standard each customer configures for itself. An inspector records several damages per vehicle, each with its type, area, severity and photos.
- Vehicle Diagram: On the handheld, the inspector picks the damaged part on a diagram of the vehicle, and damaged areas stay highlighted. The same diagram, with its markings, prints on the damage and inspection reports.
- Previous Damages on the Next Inspection: When a unit is inspected again, the handheld shows the damages recorded on its previous inspection and the inspector confirms whether each one is still there. Members of the same alliance group see those earlier damages too.
- Minimum Photo Count: Inspection templates and damage standards each set how many photos are required, instead of a single fixed minimum for every flow.
- Consolidated Reports: A consolidated inspection PDF brings a vehicle's inspection data into one document for handover and claims, and inspection reports now carry the inspection photos. A consolidated damage report exports to Excel from the Inventory list.
- Counterparty on the Inspection: The handheld records who handed the unit over or took it, typically a truck driver, together with that person's signature.
- Rejection and Conditions: A template can allow the inspector to reject the unit, and rejected inspections can be searched. Inspectors can also note the conditions at the time, such as poor light, rain or a dirty vehicle, which affect how much a damage record can be relied on.
Inspection Rules and Maintenance Cycles
- Next Activity on Completion: An activity rule can fire when a given inspection or activity is completed, scheduling the next one from the completion date. That replaces long chains of pre-created activities.
- Maintenance Cycles: Recurring maintenance driven by an attribute of the unit, such as a battery-check colour code, is now scheduled through the same rules, and the expected value is pre-selected when the inspection opens.
- Required Before Gate-Out: Per yard, an inspection or activity can be made a prerequisite for gate-out. The unit cannot leave until it is completed.
- Automatic Check-Out: Alongside the existing automatic check-in, a template can check the unit out when the inspection completes, for yards where a single worker handles arrival and release.
- Grouped Inspections: Templates can group their activities by category, with photos taken per group, and templates can be limited to one yard or kept global.
Vessel Load and Discharge Operations
Loading and discharge can now be driven by the manifest itself rather than by selecting units on screen.
- Manifest Import: Importing a load manifest assigns its VINs to the outgoing vessel and voyage. Importing an unload manifest sets up the discharge so the yard knows which units to expect. A final-manifest mode unassigns units that are not on the final list.
- Shutouts: A unit that misses the vessel can be shut out individually, with a reason and an optional move to the next sailing. Completing the operation shuts out everything assigned but not loaded and stores the loaded, shut-out and manifested counts. A shutout list per voyage shows every case and lets a user reverse one made in error.
- Loading Separate from Gate-Out: For yards that gate units out before they reach the ship, loading on the vessel is now recorded as its own step and time, and the booking's shipped date follows the loading.
- Progress on the Handheld: Supervisors see the progress of a vessel operation on the handheld.
- Vessel Operations Report: A web report shows movements hour by hour, summary figures per operation and what is still blocking departure, and prints to PDF.
Offline Handheld and Yard Tools
- Offline Scanning: Load and arrival scans keep working without a connection and sync when it returns. The office reviews anything that could not be applied, and can process or ignore it in bulk.
- Offline Photos and Inspections: Photos and inspections are captured and saved on the device in dead zones such as parking decks and the quay, then uploaded. A voyage loaded offline can be declared complete on the handheld and finalised in the office.
- Quick Truck Dispatch: Paste a list of VINs, group them into trucks, create the transports with their labels, and assign activities or inspections, all in one dialog.
- Parking by QR Code and Key Numbers: Parking locations get printable QR codes, so a unit is parked by scanning the vehicle and then the spot. Each unit can receive a key number on check-in. A yard map shows units by location, with labels, shapes and occupancy that can be switched on and off.
- Bonded Units: Units carry a bonded customs status, set per unit or through the pre-announcement import, and locations can be reserved for bonded units, with a warning when a bonded unit is parked elsewhere.
- Multi-Yard Moves: A unit leaving one yard for another is pre-announced at the destination, and a next place of delivery covers routes through more than two yards. Supervisors also get an activity dashboard on the mobile app.
EV Charging in the Yard (OCPP)
Yard chargers now connect to the platform over OCPP 1.6J, so charging is recorded against the vehicle instead of on a charger display.
- Charger Management: The desktop application lists chargers with their status and active sessions, and keeps the session history.
- Start from the Handheld: A technician starts a charging session by scanning the unit at the charger.
- Sessions Linked to Activities: Completed sessions are linked to the unit's EV charging activity, with the battery level before and after.
- One EV Charging List: A single list in the back office shows VIN, energy delivered, battery before and after, start and stop times, the user and the charger, with search and filters.
Billing, Tax, and Accounting Integrations
- Storage Autocharge: Storage charges are generated from the yard's storage charging rules, including tiered rates, and a storage billing screen shows charged periods and units still waiting for their first charge.
- Tax Configuration: Tax settings live in one place, and a client can carry a default tax that is applied to its charges when they are created.
- Invoice Layout: Charges for one customer across several destinations can go on one invoice. Charge types have their own order on the invoice, the billed period prints on it, and activity charges can be summarised by activity type.
- Accounting Integrations: Customers, invoices and credit notes are pushed to SQL Accounting on a schedule. A new export API endpoint lets a customer pull its invoices into its own system.
- Statement of Account in Excel: The statement of account can be generated as Excel as well as Word.
- Canadian Dollar Rates: Exchange rates can now be imported from the Bank of Canada alongside the existing ECB import.
Booking, Customs, and Documents
- AES Refiling: An AES filing rejected before it was ever accepted can be cloned and refiled with a new shipment reference, instead of staying stuck.
- Customs Declarations: NDN declarations can be created in bulk for several shipments. Declaration requests cover shipments booked outside the platform, stock units carry an HS code, and the booking unit list shows the status of each linked export declaration.
- Booking Automation: Shippers can opt into automatically numbered booking references. The port of discharge can be proposed from the consignee's country, unit dimensions filled from the model through a booking field rule, and a validation rule can treat hybrid and electric vehicles differently.
- Consolidated Documents: A consolidated booking confirmation and a consolidated shipping instruction can be printed for several units from the Units module, and the Shipper's Export Declaration is available as a document type.
- Grimaldi Bookings: Receiver contact details are sent with Grimaldi bookings, validated, and re-sent when the party changes.
- Clearance Responsibility: Each booking item records whether the agent or the exporter is responsible for customs clearance.
Closing
Q2 2026 finishes the damage module the platform has been building toward and moves vessel operations from screen selection to the manifest. The handheld no longer stops when the signal does, and EV charging becomes part of the unit's record.
