Port of Emden: RoRo and Vehicle Terminals

Emden is a North Sea port on the River Ems with a tidal outer port and a tide-independent inland port reached through two sea locks, and new cars for export make up a large share of its cargo. Vehicle handling in the outer harbour is run by Autoport Emden GmbH, which currently transships around 900,000 vehicles a year and uses around 100,000 square metres of asphalt parking next to its handling facilities. The terminal also prepares high and heavy cargo, such as construction machinery, harvesting machines and tractors, for RoRo shipping.
