The Hitachinaka district of Ibaraki Port, managed by Ibaraki Prefecture, has had a -12 m berth for large RORO ships at its Central Wharf in service since April 2016. It is the only port in Japan planned together with an expressway, and the Kita-Kanto Expressway runs directly into it.
