Port of Newcastle: RoRo and Vehicle Terminals
Port of Newcastle received first point of entry approval for vehicle imports and is building up a ro-ro terminal for passenger vehicles and high and heavy cargo. In August 2025 a 265-metre-long ro-ro vessel, the largest the port had received, berthed at West Basin 4 and discharged rail wagons and large mining equipment. The port says it is increasing its storage capability and ro-ro terminal investment in line with demand.
