Port of Newport News: RoRo and Vehicle Terminals
Newport News Marine Terminal is The Port of Virginia's main breakbulk and ro-ro facility, on the north bank of the James River. It covers 165 acres with more than 60 acres of outside storage, 4 active berths totaling 3,480 ft of berth space and 41 ft water depth. It has a roll-on/roll-off ramp for heavy-lift cargo, a permanent roll-on/roll-off ramp for loading rail cars with construction and agricultural equipment, and direct on-dock rail service with CSX.
